TGIF

Oh yeah. Usually, I don't really feel the difference between weekend and work. I used to think I did, but it's been years since I did mainly physical work.

This week, was short, but I've sanded, chipped at plaster, painted and glued from Monday, only taking New Year's day off.

My body's aching. I'm getting hay fever from all the dust. My brain is feeling like mush. I'm taking a break this weekend, mainly to read and relax.

It's important to me. Because as aware as I am of how much I want to do this year, I know I'll actually get less done if I burn out than if I take regular breaks to recharge. I'll also get some blog visits in. Cause really, reading what you all are up to is both inspiring and relaxing.

Have a great weekend, all! Hopefully on Monday, I'll be able to think straight enough to get some proper blog writing done. ;-)

  1. Recharge or burn out.
Monday I'll be back to regular blogging. And as usual, and overflowing post is planned.

  2. It's so good to recharged. I took a much needed break from Facebook and Twitter.

    1. Me too, actually. And it'll probably continue for as long as I'm working on the guest house.

I just don't have time for everything at the moment.

  3. Recharging is great in theory, but I never manage it in practice. Have a lovely relaxing weekend.

    1. Hahaha I never quite manage either. But I did quite well this weekend. :-)

  4. I wish I had the energy to do all that work. I'm still worn out after Christmas, but I did manage some extra cleaning.
It seems strange to hear of someone with hay fever, Misha, when we're fighting off chest infections here with the cold and damp weather.
    Take a break.

    1. Yeah I think we all are. But the fact that the guest house can make or break the farm we're buying is enough motivation to keep me going.

  5. I've been pretty neglectful of my blog this year. I kinda got burned out (as did my partner) after the A-Z blogfest. I do miss the people, though. It just takes up so much time. I go on blog binges, then have to chill for a bit, I guess.

    1. Sometimes, things just work out that way. I try to blog as regularly as possible, but when I have to chose between writing and blogging, writing will always win. As it should. :-)

    1. Yep. Just can't see what the use would be to exhaust myself in January already.

  8. Have a great weekend! It's so easy to go so fast you run out of energy too quick. Good luck on finding the balance.

    1. Yeah it's tricky to find that balance, but I'll keep trying until I get it right.

  13. Breaks are important! For me, they're important in writing too. Sometimes when I'm stuck, I take a break and do some housework. Then when I come back to the page, the answer is right in front of me.

    1. I agree with you. Staring at blank pages are a waste of time. So if the words don't come, I go do something else.

  14. Hi Misha,

My dear friend, listen to your mind and body. You need to take it easy. Just please rest over the weekend. Ease that pressure and darn it, look after YOU! Promise?

    In kindness,

    Gary :)

  18. I have a tendency to burn my candle at both ends, and I want to make it a priority to live in the moment this year instead of always planning ahead.
